Texas Tech K-12 Supports Military Families
Your family has sacrificed so much! Educating your children should not be a worry or a sacrifice! Why not have an academic program that travels with your family anywhere you need to go?

Texas Tech K-12 is a practical option for a portable, self-paced education for students of military families.
Enrollment and Relocation Information:
Texas Tech K-12 offers a unique opportunity for military-connected students to continue their Texas public school education remotely in an online school after an active military parent transfers or deploys and the student must move out of Texas.
The 87th Texas Legislature passed HB 4124 in 2021, which allows Texas Tech University to receive state funding for military-connected students and prioritize these students during enrollment or creation of a waitlist for enrollment. Students who meet eligibility criteria may enroll at Texas Tech K-12 with free tuition.
Texas Tech K-12 is established and approved by the State Board of Education and the Texas Education Agency. We began in 1993 as a Special Purpose District designed to help students whose educational needs were not adequately met by traditional school districts. Since then, we have grown to serve students across the country and in more than 70 nations around the world.
According to the TEA:
- Military-connected children move an average of 6-9 times during their K-12 education experience.
- 30% of military-connected children are between the ages of 6 and 11 years old.
- Children from military families are twice as likely as their civilian counterparts to serve in the Armed Forces as adults.
