Ruiqi Liu, Ph.D. Associate Professor
Ruiqi Liu joined the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Texas Tech University in Fall 2020. He received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Binghamton University in Spring 2018 and subsequently worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis from Fall 2018 to Spring 2020. Before coming to the United States, he earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Management from Sun Yat-sen University in 2013. Ruiqi’s research lies at the intersection of statistics, econometrics, and machine/deep learning, with the goal of developing theoretically grounded statistical methods for solving real-world problems. His recent research interests include functional data analysis and variational Bayesian methods.
