The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers the following graduate credentials:
- Master of Science in Mathematics
- Master of Science in Statistics
- Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics
- Mathematics Graduate Certificate
How to Apply
All applications are submitted directly through the Texas Tech University Graduate School.
Requirements generally include:
- Completed online application
- Non-refundable application fee
- Official transcripts from all previous college or university coursework
Additional Requirements for the M.S. and Ph.D. Programs
- Three letters of reference
- Resume or curriculum vitae
- Optional: cover letter or statement of purpose
International Applicants
International applicants must also provide proof of English proficiency and a financial statement demonstrating sufficient funding for tuition and living expenses. For the most current instructions, refer to the Graduate School website.
Admission Terms
- Fall Admission: Certificate, M.A., M.S., and Ph.D. programs
- Summer Admission: Graduate Certificate only
Assistantships
Applicants to the M.S. and Ph.D. programs are considered for graduate teaching assistantships. Positions are limited and not guaranteed. For full consideration, all application materials should be submitted by December 15 for Fall admission.
