Welcome to the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at our esteemed academic institution. Our department is one of the largest on campus, with 46 tenured and tenure-track faculty members. Of these, 44 faculty members actively work in the department, and one of our members, TTU President Lawrence Schovanec, serves in an upper administrative position.
We take great pride in our ambitious and productive faculty, post-docs, and graduate students, who are passionate about teaching students of all levels. Our department offers a diverse range of programs designed to provide a well-rounded education to our students, including B.A. and B.S. degrees in Mathematics, as well as M.S.in Mathematics, M.S. in Statistics, and Ph.D. degrees.
Our department boasts a team of exceptional members who are actively engaged in cutting-edge research across a wide range of areas that include Algebra, Analysis, Applied Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, Control Theory, Differential Equations, Education and Outreach, Geometry and Topology, Mathematical Biology, Mathematical Finance, Mathematical Physics, and Statistics. The department is committed to advancing the frontiers of knowledge in these areas and to training the next generation of leaders in these fields.
