Welcome to the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, one of the largest departments on campus, with 46 tenured and tenure track faculty (of whom 44 are actively working in the department and 2 serve in upper administrative positions: TTU President Lawrence Schovanec, and W. Brent Lindquist, Dean of College of Arts and Sciences).
The department has an ambitious and productive faculty that take pride in teaching their students well at the undergraduate and graduate level. Our Department provides broad-based programs for our students resulting in B.A., B.S., degrees in Mathematics, and M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in both Mathematics and Statistics.
The department research spans Algebra, Analysis, Applied Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, Control Theory, Differential Equations, Education and Outreach, Geometry and Topology, Mathematical Biology, Mathematical Physics, and Statistics.
