Scholarships
Graduate Scholarships
Students will be considered for the departmental scholarships by completing the TTU Grad school's scholarship/fellowship application.
Typically, the Mathematics & Statistics Department awards more than $10,000 in special graduate scholarships. The scholarships are funded from the following endowments:
- Ronald M. Anderson
Contributions made to the Ronald M. Anderson Graduate Mathematics Fellowship Endowment support scholarships for graduate students in Mathematics & Statistics. Ron Anderson is former faculty member (1965-2003), a department chair (late 1980' through 1990's) and former dean of the graduate school. He was a good researcher in very applied types of problems. - Benjamin S. Duran
Contributions made to the Benjamin Sanchez Duran Scholarship Endowment support scholarships for graduate students in Mathematics & Statistics. Ben Duran is a former faculty member (1971-2002). He was a fine statistician and a dedicated teacher. He directed the graduate work of more than 50 students. - Gordon Fuller
Contributions made to the Gordon Fuller Mathematics Scholarship Endowment support scholarships for graduate students in Mathematics & Statistics. Gordon Fuller was former faculty member (early 1950's through late 1960's) who directed numerous masters students. He was the author of several undergraduate textbooks. - Patrick Odell
Contributions made to the Patrick Odell Endowment support scholarships for graduate students in Mathematics & Statistics. Patrick Odell was chair of the department when the PhD program was established and instrumental in the hiring of new faculty to develop newly established doctoral program. - Hermann Reynolds
Contributions made to the Hermann Reynolds Endowment support scholarships for graduate students in Mathematics & Statistics. Hermann Reynolds was graduate student who passed away short after completing a master's degree. This scholarship fund was established in his memory. - SIAM
Contributions made to SIAM support scholarships for graduate students in Mathematics & Statistics. The Texas Tech chapter of SIAM is a graduate student organization created to generate interest in applied mathematics and computational science. - John T. White
Contributions made to the John T. White Graduate Scholarship in Mathematics Endowment support scholarships for graduate students in Mathematics & Statistics. John White is a former faculty member (1965-1998) and a former chair of the department (late 1970's through 1980's).
