Emmy Noether Day 2024 - Panelists

Dr. Karin Ardon-Dryer
Assistant Professor of Atmospheric Science
Dr. Ardon-Dryer is an atmospheric scientist who studies aerosol particles and the effect they have on climate, the environment, air quality, and human health. Her research combines field and laboratory work to investigate the relationship between humans and climate — exploring both how humans affect climate and how climate influences our lives in the short and long term.

Dr. Catherine Wakeman
Associate Professor of Biological Sciences
Dr. Wakeman studies microbial interactions and multicellular microbial communities. Her research explores competition and cooperation between microbes as well as the effect of environmental stressors on microbial survival. Much of her work focuses on how bacteria, including those that cause pneumonia or sepsis, persist in host environments and lead to infection.

Dr. Dana Weiser
Associate Professor and Chair, Human Development and Family Sciences
Dr. Weiser studies how family experiences shape adults relationship experiences and sexual behaviors. Her research examines how families influence attitudes about infidelity, sexual health, and sexual violence, and the role of self-efficacy in personal relationships. Her work draws from multiple perspectives including feminist theory and social cognitive theory.
