Biography
Erhan Guler received his B.Sc. degree in Mathematics from Ondokuz Mayis University in 1997, his M.Sc. degree from Gazi University in 2005, and his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Ankara University, Turkiye, in 2010 under the supervision of Professor Hasan Hilmi Hacisalihoglu and Professor Yusuf Yayli. Following his doctoral studies, he held postdoctoral and visiting research positions at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium (2011–2012), the University of Granada, Spain (2014), and Kobe University, Japan (2014).
Before entering academia full-time, Dr. Guler served as a mathematics teacher in public high schools in Samsun and Ankara between 1998 and 2013. He joined Bartin University in 2013 as an Assistant Professor, was promoted to Associate Professor in 2019, and became Full Professor in 2024. Since Fall 2024, he has been serving as a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Texas Tech University.
Dr. Guler’s research focuses on differential geometry and mathematical physics, particularly minimal and maximal surfaces, hypersurfaces in Euclidean and Minkowski spaces, Weierstrass-type representation formulas, curvature theory, Laplace–Beltrami operators, Cheng–Yau operators, and geometric analysis. His recent work includes generalized Weierstrass–Enneper representations, minimal surfaces in higher-dimensional spaces, and geometric structures arising in pseudo-Riemannian geometry and mathematical physics.
