Biography

Katharine Long's research is in numerical analysis and scientific computing, focusing on designing algorithms and high-performance software for numerical partial differential equations and on solving real-world problems in physics, biology, and engineering. She has a BS from the University of Maryland and a PhD from Princeton, both in astrophysics.
