Biography

Dr. Giorgio Bornia earned his Ph.D. from the University of Bologna in 2012. He joined Texas Tech with a visiting position in Fall 2012 and was appointed assistant professor in Fall 2013. He became Associate Professor in 2019. His research interests include: optimal control for partial differential equations; multi-physics problems in fluid dynamics, such as magnetohydrodynamics and fluid-structure interaction; finite element multigrid and domain decomposition methods; scientific computing.
