Memorandum

RE: Canvas Learning Management System Available
As you are aware, Texas Tech is transitioning from Blackboard to Canvas as our new
Learning Management System (LMS). You should have received notification last week
about access to Canvas but we want to re-emphasize this important information.
Timeline for LMS Adoption
- Access to RaiderCanvas for training and course development was given to all TTU faculty on Dec. 5.
- For the Spring 2025 semester, we are excited to have a group of early adopters who will be teaching courses in Canvas. These faculty members will help us identify areas that need attention, uncover differences between Blackboard and Canvas, and contribute to ongoing support and training efforts in their respective colleges and departments.
- In Summer 2025, any faculty member can teach using RaiderCanvas.
- In Fall 2025, all faculty members using an LMS will be required to use RaiderCanvas.
Access to RaiderCanvas
You should now have access to RaiderCanvas, our institution-specific instance of Canvas, which aligns with Raiderlink and Raider Success Hub. You can log into RaiderCanvas using your Texas Tech username and password. If you do not have access to RaiderCanvas, please send an access request to RaiderCanvas Support.
As part of your transition, you will find the following resources available to you:
- Sandbox Course – This is a space where you can explore Canvas and practice before you start developing your courses.
- Development Course – You can begin creating your actual course here, testing features, and organizing content.
- RaiderCanvas All Faculty Course – This course will be your main source of information and updates related to the transition.
- Growing with Canvas Training Course – A comprehensive training resource to help you get familiar with Canvas' core functionalities.
- Training Services Portal – Accessible through Canvas, this portal includes both on-demand and live training sessions tailored to help you get up to speed with Canvas.
