CASNR Strategic Plan outlines five-year teaching, research, and outreach goals

The College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR) at Texas Tech University has presented a five-year Strategic Plan which outlines the college's stated mission to, "develop(s) global leaders through innovative teaching, research, and scholarship while engaging with diverse communities to improve the world's food, fiber, and natural resources."

Produced by the CASNR Strategic Planning Committee, the plan details CASNR's overarching goals, strategies, specific initiatives, and quantified targets which work toward the broad objectives to:

  • Educate and Empower a Diverse Student Body,
  • Enable Innovative Research and Creative Activities, and
  • Transform Lives and Communities through Strategic Outreach and Engaged Scholarship.

"CASNR develops global leaders through innovative teaching, research, and scholarship while engaging with diverse communities to improve the world's food, fiber, and natural resources. "

The document highlights the strategic contributions of several research groups and initiatives led by PSS faculty and staff, including the Institute of Genomics for Crop Abiotic Stress Tolerance (IGCAST), Fiber and Biopolymer Research Institute (FBRI), Texas Alliance for Water Conservation (TAWC), and the CASNR Water Center.
