Yinping Jiao, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Crop Population Genomics in PSS, was recently selected as one of two global recipients of a 2021 Fellowship from The Plant Journal.
The Plant Journal (TPJ) is a high-impact international forum for research spanning all key areas of plant biology. It established the fellowship to support promising early-stage researchers as they make the transition from post-doctoral scientist to principal investigator. The three-year long TPJ Fellowship includes publishing and presentation opportunities, editorial board meetings, mentorship, and other career development.
In awarding the fellowship, TPJ recognized Jiao as an outstanding early-career scientist whose research investigating genetic diversity and regulatory mechanisms of agronomical traits in sorghum — as well as past work in functional genomics — point to a promising future in the field.
