On October 24, friends, family, and colleagues of Kris Petterson came together in the TTU Horticultural Gardens to celebrate her life and mourn her passing. Petterson — a graduate student in Dr. Jyotsna Sharma's research group — was a dedicated student, brilliant scientist, talented artist, and a warm, lively, compassionate presence in the lives of all who had the pleasure of meeting her.

Candles were lit, memories were shared, and a memorial garden was dedicated in Kris' honor. The evening was a beautiful tribute to a dearly missed young woman.
