U.S. Department of Energy Hydropower Collegiate Competition

hydropower

TTU Renewable Energy is proud to be selected for U.S. Department of Energy Hydropower Collegiate Competition (HCC.) "Hydropower already plays an important role in our power system—it provides 37% of total U.S. renewable electricity generation and 93% of grid-scale energy storage—and yet it still has untapped potential and significant opportunity for growth. However, this growth can only be realized with further innovation and a new generation of skilled workers to support this clean energy transition."

The TTU multidisciplinary team will gain direct hydropower industry experience, valuable exposure to potential career pathways, and greater understanding of hydropower's role in a clean energy future.

Get Involved

Both undergraduate and graduate students can join the team. The competition will span the 2022-23 academic year ending in final presentations in Washington D.C. at Waterpower Week, one of the largest Hydropower Conferences in the world.
