HSI/MSI Funding Opportunites | 2024-25
In 2019, Texas Tech University earned the designation of a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) by meeting the federal requirement of enrolling at least 25% Hispanic undergraduate students. This recognition, awarded by the U.S. Department of Education, signifies TTU's commitment to serving the needs of our students and positioning the university within the larger Minority-Serving Institution (MSI) community, which includes colleges and universities that predominantly serve students from underrepresented groups. As an HSI, Texas Tech is eligible for federal funding opportunities to enhance educational outcomes for Hispanic students, improve retention and graduation rates, and foster a more welcoming campus environment. Attainment of these federal funds benefits all students by ensuring intentional resources, strategic plans, and programs are created to better serve our campus community. Below are examples of these funding opportunities.
