Ali Duffy

Ali Duffy, PhD, MFA, is an Associate Professor of Dance and also teaches in the Honors College. She is the founder and Artistic Director of Flatlands Dance Theatre, (http://www.flatlandsdace.org) Lubbock's professional dance company. Her writing has been published in Research in Dance Education, the Journal of Dance Education, Dance Education in Practice, and the Journal of Emerging Dance Scholarship. Her forthcoming book about careers in dance is under contract with Human Kinetics Publishing. Dr. Duffy has been invited for national educational and artistic presentations and residencies including at University of South Florida, Lindenwood University, Colorado Mesa University, Virginia Tech, UNC Charlotte, and Danca Nova Dance Company. She serves on the National Dance Education Organization Advocacy Committee and sat on the board of the Dance Critics Association. Dr. Duffy was awarded the TTU New Faculty Award, named Integrated Scholar, and was inducted into the Teaching Academy and elected to its Executive Council in 2019.
