Paul Egan

Paul Egan leads engineering design research integrating medicine, mechanics, and manufacturing as a tenure-track assistant professor in Mechanical Engineering at Texas Tech University. Paul has demonstrated leadership in bringing entrepreneurship to the Mechanical Engineering program at TTU by advising Sling Health teams of medical and engineering students and coordinating the first Mechanical Engineering Capstone Design Expo at the TTU Innovation Hub in Fall 2019. Paul’s experience in entrepreneurship stems from participation in start-up and product design courses during his Doctoral work at Carnegie Mellon University and as part of a software-based medical product team at ETH Zurich that was awarded best in class through their start-up incubator program. Paul’s interest in entrepreneurship comes from a desire to leverage engineering design research and technological breakthroughs with solutions that provide value with positive impact, especially through improvement of health and wellness.
