Ian Stark is a graduate instructor in the Department of English who specializes in the intersection of rhetoric, technical communication, and business administration. Ian’s research has been highly recognized, receiving grants from groups like Microsoft and the National Science Foundation. Meanwhile, Ian’s teaching has been similarly regarded, receiving the Excellence in Graduate Teaching award from the TTU Graduate School and the Professing Excellence award from University Housing. Outside of academia, Ian serves as a chief executive for StarKrug LLC, a research and development company that produces medical technology for people with disabilities and chronic illnesses. His company has won 2nd place in the Innovation Hub’s I-Launch contest, earned a spot in the 6th Accelerator cohort, and has been recommended to participate in the National I-Corps program. From the classroom to the boardroom, Ian strives to solve complex technical problems with accessible and scalable solutions.
