Brendon Kelly

Brendan Kelly is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant and Soil Science and holds a joint appointment with Texas A&M AgriLife. Brendan is a West Texas native from Midland, TX and is a recipient of the Texas Tech Alumni Association New Faculty Award. His research is based out of the Fiber and Biopolymer Research Institute and focuses on finding new and exciting opportunities for his students and regional cotton producers. His research has led to the development of germplasm with an improved fiber quality profile that is more competitive on international spinning markets and has culminated in two book chapters, 19 peer reviewed publications, and a provisional patent. One of the technologies developed with his students led them to participate in a regional I-Corps at the Innovation Hub and a National I-Corps cohort in Washington, D.C. He is also a co-founder of Dynamic Fiber Systems LLC.
