Kumar manages the commercialization of physical science technologies working with faculty and students of Whitacre College of Engineering at TTU to identify patentable inventions having strong commercial value. Kumar holds a Ph.D. in Cadiovascular Flow Dynamics from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India as well as BE degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Anna University, India. In the past, Kumar has worked in industry as a Senior Design Engineer for Becton Dickinson and as a Research Engineer in the Cardiovascular Fluid Mechanics Laboratory at The Georgia Institute of Technology.
