Mr. Vandergriff has researched, developed, and operated several small businesses. He provides mentoring/consulting regarding operations management as a Certified Mentor through SCORE. He has personal expertise in the areas of Human Resource Management, Marketing, Finance, and Taxation.

His businesses include: Self Storage facilities, Tree Farms, and Real estate development including new home construction, rehabilitation of foreclosed single family homes. Currently he is semi-retired and for the last 10 years he has lived in Lubbock with his wife of 54 years.

Mr. Vandergriff earned his undergraduate degree in Finance and Real-estate from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville. He earned his graduate degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Utah. His Doctor of Humane Letters was awarded to him by Mississippi University for Women.
