About Me

Theresa Brown joined Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine faculty in August of 2022 as an Assistant Professor of General Practice and Director of Clinical and Professional Skills. Theresa grew up in a farming family in rural Western Australia. She graduated from Murdoch University in 2022 with her Bachelor's in Animal Science and Bachelors of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery. After graduation she worked in an equine practice for 6 years before transitioning over to small / mixed animal practice. For the two years prior to joining the School of Veterinary Medicine, Theresa was the chief veterinarian at Loudoun County Animal Services in Virginia overseeing the veterinary work at the municipal shelter as well as working closely with the Humane Law Enforcement Department on animal welfare and cruelty cases.

Instruction

Dr. Brown has joined our growing family of Clinical and Professional Skills Veterinarians and will be helping students to learn the practical and clinical skills needed to be successful in mixed animal practice.

Service

Theresa currently serves on the School of Veterinary Medicine's admissions committee and numerous search committees for new hires. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Equine Practitioners and Association of Shelter Veterinarians.
