About Me

John Gibbons is a reproductive physiologists with a mixture of clinical and academic experiences focused on assisted reproductive techniques in livestock ranging from the very basic to the easily applied. A native of Dallas TX, John received a BS in Animal Science from Texas A&M University, an MS in Dairy Science from Virginia Tech University, and a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Instruction

John's instructional background involves educating undergraduate, graduate, veterinary, and most recently medical students in many aspects of physiology. He has also given multiple short courses, online tutorials, and one-on-one or small group training for students, animal producers, and embryo transfer practitioners and technicians.

Research

John's research is a multifaceted approach to address basic fertilization and early embryonic development questions as well as developing and modifying reproductive techniques (such as superovulation / embryo transfer, in vitro fertilization, and cloning) and protocols to assist livestock producers in reaching their reproductive, genetic, and financial goals.

Service

John currently serves on multiple committees as a member of the American Embryo Transfer Association and the International Embryo Technologies Society.
