Food Safety; AFS's ICFIE program adapts to environment, needs of society

In 1996, the World Food Conference defined food security as existing only when all people, at all times, have access to safe and nutritious food. Worldwide, the United Nations estimates that two billion people and nearly 200 million children under five years old suffer from under nutrition, with more than 3.5 million children dying from under nutrition each year.

Judging teams open Spring with strong showing at Denver's National Western

The Texas Tech University meat, wool and livestock judging teams opened the 2015 spring season with strong results last weekend at the National Western Stock Show. All three teams from the Department of Animal and Food Sciences in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources got off to good starts. The meat and wool judging teams won their respective events, while the livestock team finished fourth.
