Jackie demonstrates their continued commitment to student success through various roles. Prior to TTU, they taught at universities in Egypt, China, and Indonesia.

Jackie enjoys trying new things, engaging in LGBTQIA+ topics, traveling, yoga, meditating, swimming, hiking, camping, weight training, video games, cooking, cake decorating, and listening to live music. Their favorite food is one they haven't yet tasted—and popcorn.

Their academic background includes the following:

B.A. in Creative Writing with a minor in Linguistics and Philosophy with a Teaching English as a Foreign Language Certificate and a Chinese Language Certificate from Ohio University.

M.A. in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from The American University in Cairo.

M.A. in English-Creative Writing from Texas Tech University.

They are currently working on an M.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies at Texas Tech University with concentrations in Higher Education, Women's & Gender Studies, and Technical Communication & Rhetoric. They are specifically looking at the field of Rhetoric of Health & Medicine.
