Bill Masterson Memorial Scholarship

The Bill Masterson Memorial Scholarship will provide scholarships to undergraduate students majoring in Animal and Food Sciences. A total of $1,000 to be awarded each year, $500 in the Fall and $500 in the Spring.  In order for a student to receive the spring amount, the student must continue to be in good academic standing.

Bill Masterson graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Business in 1969. He returned to his family"s ranch, the JY Ranch, near Gutherie, TX where he eventually took over as owner. He and his wife Donna had four children- Scotta, Robert, Lisa, and Laurie. Scotta and Robert are both alumni of the College of Agricultural Sciences at Texas Tech University. Robert returned to the JY Ranch and took over after his father"s passing.
