The 1989 Meat Judging Team Scholarship Endowment was established in 2011 by members
of the 1989 Meat Judging Team to provide scholarships to current Meat Judging Team
members.
The 1989 Meat Judging team was coached by Dr. Gordon W. Davis, Kary Kent, and Alan
Schulter, and team members were: Melissa Briscoe, Paul Heinrich, Jeff Lansdell, Andy
Vidak, Jeff Owen, Craig Kitten, and Rickie Vogel.
They had an exceptional year and were the Eastern National Champions, Southwestern
Champions, and International Champions. This was the first National Championship in
program history.
