The J.J. Willingham Memorial Scholarship Endowment was established in 1969 by the
Texas-New Mexico Dairy Tech Society and family and friends of Dr. J.J. Willingham
to provide scholarships for undergraduate majors in the Food Technology program selected
on the basis of academic achievement and financial need.
Dr. J. J. Willingham was a faculty member in the college since 1948 where he served
as the head of the Department of Dairy Industry from 1949 to 1970 and coached the
Diary Products Judging Team before retiring in 1971. He received his bachelor"s degree
in 1931 and a Ph.D. in dairy husbandry from the Iowa State University in 1942.
