Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Endowed Scholarship
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship Endowment was established in 1978 by the generous donation from the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. These scholarships are awarded to students of all majors in the Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources. Students must maintain good academic standing and conduct and must be residents of Texas.
Since its beginning in 1932, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has committed more than $430 million dollars to scholarships, research, endowments, calf scramble participants, junior show exhibitors, School Art participants, and other educational youth programs.
Currently, more than 2,400 students are on Show scholarships, attending more than 80 different colleges and universities across the state of Texas. This number continues to rise as the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo remains dedicated to serving and supporting the youth of Texas. With more than 30,000 volunteers, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is opening doors for students because of people willing to donate their time and money in order to see them succeed.
