Dallas and Brenda Powell Alpha Zeta Endowed Scholarship
The Dallas and Brenda Powell Alpha Zeta Scholarship Endowment was established in 2014
by Dallas and Brenda Powell. Scholarships are awarded to outstanding students majoring
in the Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources at the end of his
or her sophomore year.
Dallas Powell graduated from Texas Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Production
in 1961 and a master's degree in Animal Nutrition in 1966. As a student he was very
active in organizations, including Alpha Zeta, Student Senate, Agricultural Economics
Association, Phi Kappa Phi, and Block and Bridle.
He is retired from Farr Better Foods, and is now an independent insurance agent in
Longmont, Colorado. He and his wife, Brenda, have two children, Paul and Penne.
