George C. and Vivian Wilson Endowed Scholarship

George Wilson

The George C. and Vivian Wilson Scholarship Endowment was established by George C. and Vivian Wilson in 1991. The scholarship is for all majors and classifications in the Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources.

George C. Wilson graduated from Texas Tech in 1941 with a Bachelor of Science in Dairy Management. His wife, Vivian, graduated from Tech in 1941 with bachelor's degrees in both English and History. After graduation, he served in the Air Force during World War II. He had a long and distinguished business career in the dairy industry, retiring from Bell Diary Products as President in 1981.

George passed away January 23, 2008. He was known for his selflessness in service to Lubbock, West Texas, Texas Tech, his church, and his family. Vivian passed away September 28, 2008.
