Texas Tech's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and the University Career Center will host a Career Fair from noon to 4 p.m. on Tuesday (Sept. 27) at the Texas Tech Club on the West side of Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock. This year program leaders expect more than two dozen company representatives from businesses eager to meet and schedule CASNR students for potential interviews.
"If you or your company has job and internship positions available and are looking to hire Red Raiders, we invite you to participate in the fair," said Amy Bafford, associate director of employer relations and marketing in Tech's University Career Center.
Noting the challenging economic times, program officials strongly encouraged students seeking jobs to bring updated resumes and to dress professionally.
Tech's Career Center views a student's career development as a part of the student's overall college and life experience. "Our primary focus is to assist in career development and education," Bafford said.
The center provides an extensive list of online jobs and on-campus interviews, as well as career counseling for students to explore those factors that influence career decisions. Officials note that Texas Tech is dedicated to student success by preparing learners to be ethical leaders for a diverse and globally competitive workforce.
"This is a wonderful opportunity for students to visit with many employers at one time," Bafford said, "and it's important for our students to make a professional first impression on prospective employers."
