Phillip Johnson, Professor, Chair and the Charles C. Thompson Chair of Agricultural Finance within the Department of Agricultural & Applied Economics, joined the Texas Tech faculty in 1994. He also serves as Director of Texas Tech's Thornton Agricultural Finance Institute. His research broadly focuses on the economics of agricultural water management and policy issues, while his primary teaching responsibilities have been in agribusiness finance, financial analysis and property appraisal. Johnson's doctorate in agricultural economics is from Texas Tech.
