Texas Tech University will host the 95th Annual National Block and Bridle Convention on Oct. 23-25. Bringing together hundreds of college students from Block and Bridle clubs across the nation, the event offers an opportunity for participants to network with peers and further their education of agriculture. This is the first time Texas Tech has been selected to host the convention.
Recent Chinese policy changes, along with overall reductions in Chinese stocks, could have major impacts on U.S. cotton farm prices, according to a study led by Texas Tech University agricultural researchers. However, their impacts on the U.S. cotton exports will be negligible.
The Red Steagall Endowed Scholarship was established within the Texas Tech Alumni Association. Created by friends of Steagall, funds generated from the endowment will provide scholarships to undergraduate students majoring in CASNR."My education and musical career both revolve around agriculture. I have a degree in animal science and spent the first five years after college in agricultural chemistry," said Red Steagall. "It is with great honor that I represent this scholarship fund to provide assistance to young people who desire to receive an education in agriculture."
