Edward E. WHitacre Jr. College of Engineering Global Experiences
For Undergraduates

Message From Dean Faller

As we review the responses to surveys we sent out recently, one outcome is apparent. Many responses point out issues with a mandatory requirement of global experience even though they admit that it's a valuable experience. In addition, data over the last six years show us more exemptions are handed out than the number of students going abroad. These were mainly due to financial hardship, health and family concerns or for transfer or international students. So, WCOE is now removing the requirement , but strongly encouraging a global experience in undergraduate programs effective Spring 2024. This can be achieved by participation in the available programs for study abroad, internship, research and service abroad. There are scholarships available specifically for those who take part in global experience options for undergraduates.
