Mental Health

WCOE Embedded Counselor - A licensed professional counselor works full-time at the Whitacre College of Engineering to provide therapy sessions and mental health support to our students. To book an appointment with the WCOE Counselor, students must first complete an intake appointment with the Student Counseling Center.

Student Counseling Center is located on the second floor, room 201 of the Student Wellness Center on the corner of Flint Ave. & Main St. They offer a variety of services to address your mental health. Once you complete your intake appointment with their office, you can then schedule an appointment with the WCOE Embedded Counselor or other available Counselors.

• If you are experiencing a mental health crisis of any kind, do not wait to for normal business hours. Contact the Texas Tech Crisis Helpline at (806) 742-5555.

Tutoring

• CPEEC Tutoring Program – Peer tutors from the Whitacre College of Engineering offer drop-in tutoring of many different subjects specific to engineering, and new subjects are frequently added!
• The Learning Center – The Learning Center offers academic coaching, test preparation, peer and online tutoring on all subjects.
• Department of Mathematics and Statistics – The Math department offers free drop-in peer tutoring at the Tutoring & Study Center in Room 106 on the first floor of the math building, Monday – Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM.
• Department of Physics and Astronomy – The Physics department offers tutoring appointments which must be booked with the tutor in advance.
• Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry– The Chemistry department offers tutoring appointments which must be booked with the tutor in advance.
• University Writing Center – An engineering degree is writing intensive. Take advantage of the University Writing Center for online tutorials, resources, and one-on-one appointments.
