Position Description
The Enterprise IT Business Analyst I scope of responsibility includes learning the business goals and processes of Texas Tech departments, ability to use this understanding to document business processes and serve as a liaison between central IT and functional departments assisting in support of software applications.  Additional responsibilities could include collecting, analyzing and developing data relative to business areas and assisting in implementation and configurations of software applications. Enterprise positions are restricted for use in central IT Division areas reporting up to the institutional CIO and, as such, may interface with key IT leadership and/or functional leadership from the Texas Tech University System institutions.
Essential Job Functions
Develops and maintains an understanding of software applications in order to assist business areas in the implementation and configurations of these applications using their knowledge of the applicable business rules and requirements. Communicates functional and technical details to a range of audiences, including business area experts and technical developers. Performs business analysis and requirements gathering and management for applications including developing, documenting, maintaining, and communicating business rules and requirements. Performs quality assurance tasks for products in the software application portfolio, including creation and maintenance of use case, test case, and test procedure documentation; decomposition of functionality for QA activities; and performance of testing.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required plus one year related full-time paid experience OR a combination or related education and/or experience.

Preferred: Experience in higher education with exposure to business processes; business analyst training or work experience in functional departments.
