Position Description
The Enterprise IT Senior Business Analyst is responsible for understanding and documenting the business processes of Texas Tech University departments, leveraging this knowledge to support IT initiatives. This role is a liaison between IT and functional departments, ensuring that technology solutions align with institutional needs. Additionally, the position involves developing and maintaining business process documentation, conducting analysis, and refining internal IT procedural documentation. As part of the central IT Division, this role may interface with key IT leadership and functional leadership across Texas Tech University System institutions. The Enterprise IT Senior Business Analyst takes on a leadership role by managing a team of business analysts and ensuring the successful execution of IT initiatives.
Essential Job Functions
Lead a team of IT business analysts, overseeing project deadlines, deliverables, and quality of work. Maintain a deep understanding of institutional business processes and leverage this knowledge to support IT initiatives. Perform business analysis in collaboration with stakeholders to identify and document business needs. Convert complex business use cases into detailed technical requirements to guide IT projects. Provide strategic recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness of business and IT processes. Work closely with IT leadership and functional leadership to align technology solutions with institutional goals.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Business, Computer Science, MIS or similar field and 5 - 7 years of related experience. Additional job related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Experience in higher education with exposure to business processes, business analyst training, or work experience in functional departments.
