Performs responsible purchasing and/or supervisory work of buyers involved in the purchase of materials, supplies and equipment for a department or section; duties encompass procurement involving the completion of required technical and negotiating processes as necessary; performed within established policies and procedures.

Completion of high school or the equivalent plus four years related experience.  Additional related education may substitute for required experience on a year for year.
