The Server Administrator III's role includes designing, installing, administering, and maintaining advanced computing systems.  This includes conducting analysis of specification requirements, as well as, development and implementation of standards and procedures.  The position is also expected to assist senior departmental management in IT strategic planning and provide general support for server operating systems and server applications.

With limited supervision by management and/or project leads: Manages the architectural design, procurement, installation, maintenance, and administration of area or unit servers. Manages the development and implementation of standards, procedures, and operations to support software/hardware systems. Performs systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specification. Conducts analysis of job/system requirements, specification preparation, and designs/implements server solutions, recommending strategic directions for area or unit. Supports server operating systems, server applications, and projects for an area or unit. Responsible for the installation, administration, operation, and maintenance of area and unit advanced computing systems. Adheres to all TTU policies (including IT Ops) and other relevant internal departmental policies.

Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related area plus three years related full-time paid experience OR a combination of related education and/or experience.
