Position Description
Direct and manage instructional program and supervise academic campus operations and personnel at the direction of the principal(s). Coordinate teachers and parents to provide educational opportunities to the students. Solve conflicts and develop policies as needed.
Essential Job Functions
Monitor instructional and managerial processes to ensure program activities are related to program outcomes and use findings to take corrective action. Provide instructional resources and materials to support teaching staff in accomplishing instructional goals in domestic and international markets. Foster collegiality and team building among staff members. Encourage their active involvement in descision-making process. Provide for two-way communication with supervisors, staff, students, parents, and community. Communicate and promote expectations for high-level performance to staff and students. Ensure the effective and quick resolution of conflicts. Build common vision for school improvement with staff. Develop, maintain, and use information systems and records necessary to show campus progress on performance objectives as assigned. Interview, assist with selection, and orient new staff. Assist with defining expectations for staff performance with regard to instructional strategies, assessment practices, and classroom management. Observe employee performance, record observations, and conduct evaluation conferences with staff as assigned. Make recommendations to supervisors concerning employment, evaluation, and termination of instructors. Work to plan professional development activities. Confer with subordinates regarding their professional growth. Work with them to develop and accomplish improvement goals. Comply with district polices and institutional policies. Maintain accurate records concerning enrollment, personnel and other assigned needs. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents as required. Ensure that school rules are uniformly observed and policies followed. Conduct conferences about student and school issues with parents, students, and teachers. Attend professional growth and development opportunities as assigned. Develop professional skills appropriate to job assignment. Demonstrate professional, ethical, and responsible behavior. Serve as a role model for all staff. Supervise and evaluate the performance of staff assigned including teacher(s). Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction. Ability to evaluate instrctional program and teaching effectiveness. Ability to manage personnel. Ability to implement policy and procedures. Ability to interpret data. Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
Qualifications: Master's degree in educational administration, Texas principal certification or other appropriate Texas certificate; One year of experience as an Administrator in a Texas public school.
