Position Description
The Title IX Coordinator is expected to be an ethical leader who has expert knowledge of Texas Tech University's policies and procedures and who strives for professional effectiveness by continually participating in professional development and educational activities to renew foundational understandings, improve skills, and acquire new knowledge. The position is expected to make informed decisions by exercising sound judgment and is expected to conduct themselves in accordance with the highest levels of integrity and competence in pursuit of equity in the academic, residential, social, and athletic programs of the university, and in the prevention of hostile environments on the basis of sex, the prohibition of other forms of discrimination and harassment on the basis of protected classes, the protection from retaliation, and in remedying the effects of discrimination and harassment. The Title IX Coordinator is expected to be a responsible steward of sensitive and/or confidential information and be familiar with and comply with applicable laws, university policies, directives and agreements pertaining to access, use, protection and disclosure of such information including the electronic transmission of records and adherence to privacy laws.
Qualifications
Master's degree, or JD degree, with Title IX Coordinator experience preferred;Bachelor's degree with significant experience as a certified Title IX Coordinator may be substituted for the Master's degree. Title IX Coordinator certification required; must maintain professional qualification through continuing education, training and development.
