Position Description
Support ongoing academic success and persistence through graduation by providing holistic outreach and support to students, assisting with training and mentoring Specialists, and assisting with program development and implementation. The Senior Student Success Specialist position is currently restricted for use in Academic Innovation & Student Success.
Essential Job Functions
Provide high-touch, holistic retention outreach and support to a cohort of undergraduate students. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and prior experience (1 year) as a Student Success Specialist
Knowledge, Skill, & Abilities
Experience working directly with college students Experience mentoring professional staff Possesses outstanding written and verbal communication skills Proven capability in managing multiple deadlines and complex projects Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a cooperative team environment Experience utilizing Raider Success Hub and Banner Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software. The ideal candidate for this position would display an abilityto: Build rapport with students while providing academic, social, and personal support 
Have difficult conversations with students with tact and sound judgment to help them address their personal and academic barriers to success
Understand, communicate and develop approaches for complex issues students experience
Proactively engage in learning about barriers to student success, as well as the resources available to help students overcome them
Promote a culture of innovation, growth, and cooperation to provide leading-edge student support services
Work in a highly collaborative environment that requires a high level of communication and coordination
