Pre-Professional Health Programs

 

Studying abroad can have a tremendous impact on people within any career. Students whose professional goal is to work with in the heathcare field can gain valuable experience and knowledge of other cultures while gaining academic credit. Healthcare professionals interact with people with many different cultural backgrounds and experiences and studying abroad can provide a strong foundation for empathy and understanding. 

While many programs offered through Texas Tech Study Abroad offer a wide range of courses and opportunties, the programs highlighted below have been identifed as strong Pre-Health study abroad programs. Some of the programs are immersive study abroad experiences which provide pre-health coursework, while others offer research opportunities.  The shadowing options listed are non-credit bearing but allow students to experience how health care is conducted in another country. It's important students think about their professional, academic, and personal goals before choosing a program. 

Depending on your program of choice, you will need to either attend a group advising session or meet with a Study Abroad Advisor. Students must have started the application, and completed the advising questionnaire, before they can meet with an Advisor.
