Genevieve Durham DeCesaro is a Professor of Dance and Vice Provost for Faculty Success at Texas Tech University. She previously served Texas Tech as Interim Dean of the J.T. & Margaret Talkington College of Visual & Performing Arts, Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, Associate Chair of the School of Theatre & Dance, and Head of the Dance Program.  Her choreography has been commissioned and performed across the country, with notable presentations at Virginia Tech, Spelman College, and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. She serves as Vice-President for Regional Planning for the American College Dance Association and is a Visiting Evaluator for the National Association of Schools of Dance.  Her current projects foreground the efficacy of movement and other types of performance as catalysts for transformative change. With Dr. Elizabeth Sharp, Director of the Women's and Gender Studies Program at TTU, she co-authored the book Ordinary Wars: Doing Transdisciplinary Research, and she currently works with Prof. Rachel Hirshorn-Johnston from the School of Theatre & Dance on a project called Remember This? that is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts.
