Genevieve Durham DeCesaro, M.F.A.

Genevieve Durham DeCesaro is a professor of dance and vice provost for Faculty Success at Texas Tech University. She previously served Texas Tech as interim dean of the J.T. & Margaret Talkington College of Visual & Performing Arts, vice provost for academic affairs, associate chair of the School of Theatre & Dance and head of the dance program.  

Her choreography has been commissioned and performed across the country, with notable presentations at Virginia Tech, Spelman College and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. She serves as vice president for regional planning for the American College Dance Association and is a visiting evaluator for the National Association of Schools of Dance.  Her current projects foreground the efficacy of movement and other types of performance as catalysts for transformative change. She is an award-winning author, an invited contributor to peer-reviewed books and publications and her work has been funded by the National Endowment for the Arts.
