The Lauro Cavazos & Ophelia Powell-Malone Mentoring Program (Mentor Tech) was introduced during the fall semester of the 2002. Named for Dr. Lauro F. Cavazos, the first undergraduate to serve as President of Texas Tech University and Ophelia Powell-Malone, the first African American undergraduate of Texas Tech University, the program seeks to enhance the quality of the educational experiences of students from underrepresented groups through programs, services, advocacy, and campus and community involvement. Noyce Scholars

Teaching; Study abroad

The Noyce Scholars program is primarily designed for undergraduate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) students who are interested in making an impact through teaching. The program is divided into two tracks: Pre-Noyce Summer Fellows and Noyce Scholars.

Raiders Helping Others (RHO)

Raiders Helping Others is dedicated to helping others in the Lubbock community and beyond. Members of Raiders Helping Others volunteer to perform two community service projects per month throughout the academic year. Additionally, members will be selected from within the group to attend a distance spring break service trip. New group members are selected by current members early in the fall semester. Members are expected to participate in community service projects, social activities, and fundraising events. All expenses associated with the service events and spring break trip are paid by group members or through fundraisers.

The Spirit Squads lead the fans in supporting the teams at football, basketball, and volleyball games. They serve as ambassadors not only at athletic events, but also at many different school functions. In addition, the Spirit Squads gladly participate in their community by volunteering at local schools, charity events, and youth organizations. Being a proud part of the Texas Tech Spirit Program is more than just a year-round commitment. It means dedication from each member to maintain the school spirit of the students, the alumni, and the fans. The Spirit Program members take pride in knowing that they are an essential part of such a wonderful tradition!

Jumpstart

Birthday of Dr. Seuss Celebration; National Reading Day; Read for the Record; "Ladybug Girl and the Bug Squad"

Jumpstart is a national early education organization working toward the day every child in America enters kindergarten prepared to succeed. We provide language, literacy, and social-emotional programming for preschool children from under-resourced communities and promote quality early learning for all children. Since 1993, we've trained more than 45,000 college students and community volunteers to transform the lives of over 100,000 preschool children nationwide.

Tech Council on Family Relations

Tech CFR is a foremost-recognized student affiliate of the National Council on Family Relations. NCFR is the country's premier professional association whose interests are focused on topics and efforts that yield a common benefit - the understanding and strengthening of families. We are the exclusive, multi-disciplinary, professional society within the College of Human Sciences.

Chi Omega

Founded on April 5, 1895, Chi Omega Fraternity has continued to flourish as the largest and most prominent women's fraternal organization in the nation. Chi Omegas are well balanced women who have been involved on their campuses and in their communities for over 117 years! With such a network of women, each member of our Sisterhood has immense support as we commit to our founding purposes: Friendship, High Standards of Personnel, Sincere Learning and Creditable Scholarship, Career Development, Participation in Campus Activities, Community Service.

Chi Pi Omega

Chi Pi Omega Multicultural Sorority is multicultural sorority to Texas Tech University. Currently, we have ten to twenty active members a semester. Our purpose is to promote higher education and facilitate the five core values of diversity, growth, leadership, service, and sisterhood between members. We aim for our sisters to succeed socially, academically, and personally in their experience at Texas Tech. We strive to be a multicultural sorority for students of any background while providing volunteer opportunities and fostering an environment for self-betterment.

Chi Tau Epsilon

Chi Tau Epsilon is a National Dance Honor Society, which promotes community service and the engagement of the Arts. The Beta Chapter located at Texas Tech University is actively involved in the Lubbock Community with organizations like The Hospice of Lubbock, City of Lubbock, and Lubbock Independent School District.

Collegiate 100

The Collegiate 100 of Texas Tech University is established for the purpose of uniting Collegiate Professional Men and Women to Empower & Inspire the youth of the next generation, through Mentorship, Leadership, Professionalism, and Community Service.

Texas Tech Collegiate FFA is a organization open to all Texas Tech students who want to participate in leadership activities. These include community service projects and agriculture promoting events.

Cure Tech

CURE TECH is closely affiliated with CURE International. CURE International is a non-profit organization that operates charitable hospitals and programs in 29 countries worldwide where patients experience the life-changing message of God's love for them, receiving surgical treatment regardless of gender, religion, or ethnicity. CURE TECH strives to raise awareness about disabilities in the developing world while providing support for these children through our own communities here at Texas Tech University and around Lubbock. By hosting fundraisers, we raise money to sponsor surgical procedures, while also empowering the students and residents of Texas Tech University to realize that together we can make a difference. CURE TECH will enable active members to apply to attend mission trips with Cure International to one of their Cure hospital locations.

Delta Alpha Sigma Multicultural Sorority, Inc.

The purpose of the Delta Alpha Sigma organization is to unite Texas Tech women from various cultures, nationalities and backgrounds. To promote leadership, multiculturalism, and self-improvement through academic excellence, involvement in and service to the campus and community, as well as being living examples of sisterhood across different races, cultures, religions, backgrounds, and lifestyles. Delta Alpha Sigma enhances and celebrates women of all cultures with the opportunity to better oneself and the community through leadership roles and service.

Delta Kappa Delta Sorority, Inc. is the first and only South Asian Interest SERVICE Sorority. We pride ourselves on helping the community and building a sisterhood that lasts a lifetime.

Engineers Without Borders

Engineers Without Borders is a non-profit humanitarian organization established to partner with developing communities worldwide in order to improve their quality of life.

Gamma Alpha Omega Sorority, Inc.

A sisterhood that provides support and encouragement for Latina women and other women of color in higher education. Through community service, we learn the importance of giving back to our communities and encourage young people to strive for a college education and enhance their academic endeavors.

Gamma Beta

Gamma Beta Fraternity, Inc. is an Asian-American interest fraternity that was established Spring of 2000 at The University of Texas at Austin. In fall of 2008, Gamma Beta successfully expanded to Texas Tech University. Gamma Beta is dedicated to the betterment of men through brotherhood, academics, and community service. Gamma Beta is one of the fastest growing Asian-American interest fraternities in Texas and continues to set new standards of excellence on its respective campuses.

Heart of Lubbock Community Garden

We are a FREE community garden located at 21st St. and Ave X. All are welcome to join and we can always use more help. For volunteering you get to take home food. It is fun and gets your outdoors!

Hispanic Student Society

Our purpose is to promote Hispanic culture among the student body at Texas Tech University, the Lubbock community, and surrounding areas. Furthermore, to recruit, mentor, provide leadership support and opportunities of socialization, and to promote community service among prospective and current students.

HOPE Worldwide Tech Campus Club

HOPE worldwide Tech Campus Club is a student organization, dedicated to helping students serve both locally in Lubbock and internationally. We are a student service group that focuses on serving and building deep friendships around the world.

Kappa Xi Student Service Fraternity

Kappa Xi is a student service organization created to unify likeminded students in the spirit of service so that they may organize and conduct efforts that protect, repair, and elevate the morale and wellbeing of the community. Kappa Xi chooses to focus its resources primarily on efforts that lend aid and support to underprivileged youth who have little access to proper guidance or a stable home environment. Kappa Xi believes such a focus will allow the fraternity to leave its greatest mark of goodwill on the community. In conjunction with this spirit, Kappa Xi intends to facilitate student personal growth by encouraging academic excellence and responsible social networking. The structure of Kappa Xi is such that commitment to its values and efforts will further grow Kappa Xi members into noble citizens of significance.

Lambda Delta Psi

Lambda Delta Psi is a sorority in the Multicultural Greek Council. Although we are an Asian interest organization, we welcome diversity and encourage anyone who is looking for a genuine sisterhood to join! Medical and Dental Global Brigades

Students will spend 7-9 days in either Honduras, Panama, or Nicaragua providing healthcare for under-resourced communities. Students will shadow both Medical and Dental professionals while up-taking roles ranging from checking vitals to helping prescribe medications.

Saddle Tramps

Saddle Tramps is an all male spirit/service organization dedicated to the betterment of Texas Tech University and the Lubbock community. Saddle Tramps carry out and uphold many of the traditions of Texas Tech including Raider Red, the Homecoming Bonfire, the Victory Bells, and Carol of Lights. Saddle Tramps also wrap the campus and Will Rogers statue in red and black streamers before every home football game.

Sigma Alpha

Sigma Alpha is a professional agricultural sorority that promotes scholarship, leadership, service and fellowship among its members. The sorority was founded in 1978 at the Ohio State University by five women who wanted an alternative to the social Greek sorority system. Since that time, Sigma Alpha has become a national organization consisting of more than 80 chapters, comprised of undergraduate and alumni members. Today, more than 7,000 members have been initiated into Sigma Alpha Sorority. We're growing steadily as others in agriculture learn about us.

Sri Lankan Students Association

The purpose of the SLSA is to promote awareness about Sri Lanka and to address the needs of Sri Lankan students at Texas Tech while working in partnership with the Lubbock community.

St. Jude Up 'til Dawn

Unite to fight childhood cancer. That's the motto of Up 'til Dawn, a student-led, student-run, philanthropic program hosted by colleges and universities nationwide to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. A group of students educate the entire student body on St. Jude and recruit teams of five or more to participate in Up 'til Dawn. Teams fundraise through various side events and then come together to celebrate their accomplishments at the Up 'til Dawn Celebration event. Join the movement. Dedicate yourself to this worthy cause.

Student Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics

The Student Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is an organization for all Nutrition and Dietetics majors! SAND has many events, committees, community service, and networking opportunities throughout the academic year. We are involved with various organizations and charities in the Lubbock community including the South Plains Food Bank, United Future Leaders and Ronald McDonald House of Charities. The monthly meetings involve food and refreshments, recaps, and guest speakers who share information about their specific area of work in the Dietetics field. This organization is a great way to get involved in your major and gain experiences that will prepare you for your future as a Registered Dietitian. Students Ending Slavery

The purpose of "Students Ending Slavery" is to promote awareness about the issue of human trafficking, educate students on what human trafficking is, how to identify it, and what to do if you or someone you know is a victim, as well as partner with local organizations that are working to combat human trafficking.

Tech Council on Family Relations

Tech CFR members and stakeholders work to fulfill the mission of the organization by providing information and networking sessions, regular meetings with guest speakers, service opportunities, and social events! In accordance with both the National Council on Family Relations and Texas CFR, our mission is to provide an education forum for family researchers, educators, and practitioners to share in the development and dissemination of knowledge about families and family relationships, establish professional standards, and work to promote family well-being.

Tech Lions Club

It is a non-profit corporation, which provides, through contributions of Lions, and non-Lions, millions of dollars to programs for the needy. The foundation has three major objectives: humanitarian services, which encompasses a wide range of projects from the local level, to universal needs such as eradicating preventable blindness and sponsoring drug awareness and education programs for youth; financial vocational training including those programs that help the underprivileged and disabled gain independence so they can improve their economic and social well-being, and lead more productive lives; and major disaster relief, which helps rebuild and restore important programs and services after a natural disaster. Campus Lions Club provides the opportunity for the campus community to address the unique needs on their college campus and reach out to the local community and communities around the world- all Lions are dedicated to seeking out and helping those in need. It gives members an opportunity to give back to their communities, while engaging in service learning and gaining experience to help their field of study, such as marketing, public relations, accounting, medicine or political science. From involving members in projects as local as cleaning up an area park or as far-reaching as bringing sight to the world's blind, Lions club have always embraced those committed to building a brighter future for their community. Student benefits include the opportunity to serve campus, local, and world communities, take part on the world's largest service club organization, improve speaking and presentational skills, strengthen business and management skills, networking, resume building, and transferability of membership. Whitacre College of Engineering Outreach Raiders

The Whitacre College of Engineering Outreach Raiders program engages with local K-12th grade students, teachers, families, and members of the community to both educate and cultivate an interest in engineering fields of study and career pathways. Through exciting and engaging clubs, camps and community activities, participants are able to explore different fields of engineering, engage in real world, hands-on challenges, receive mentoring, and experience Texas Tech University culture. We strive to spark the interest that will inspire the next generation of engineers.
