The Student Counseling Center will soon be opening a search for a Diversity-Focused Counselor
Position Description
In mid-May 2022, Texas Tech University Student Counseling Center will invite applications for a diversity-focused full-time Staff Psychologist/Counselor position (TTU job title: Counseling Psychologist). The position has a specific focus on consultation, therapy, and advocacy to Black/African American and Latinx students, as well as other students with multiple, intersecting identities. The successful candidate will join a cohesive team of dedicated professionals committed to fostering a multiculturally supportive environment. Responsibilities include providing culturally sensitive counseling and psychological services to students; supervision of graduate student trainees (doctoral psychology interns and/or graduate practicum students); outreach programming to campus community.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in related area. Thorough knowledge of the application and evaluation
of testing and counseling techniques. Ability to conceptualize and prioritize goals
and objectives. Ability to relate to people from all walks of life and communicate
effectively with them.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral degree in the related area. State license to practice Psychology and supervise trainees at all levels.
