Bethany Solomon Schilling, DVM

Assistant Professor

About Me

Dr. Bethany Solomon Schilling joined the Texas Tech faculty February 1, 2020. Dr. Schilling grew up on a farm and ranch in the Texas Panhandle and has deep roots in agriculture. She received her Bachelor's in Animal Science in 2005 and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2010, both from Texas A&M University in College Station. She has been in mixed animal, academic and small animal clinical practice.

Instruction

Dr. Schilling will help teach Clinical and Professional Skills and prepare the students for the unique challenges that come when practicing in rural and regional communities.

Research

None currently, I would like to do some studies on increasing emotional intelligence within the veterinary student population and developing ways to help screen for it in the admissions process.

Service

Dr. Schilling would like to help aspiring veterinarians prepare for the academic rigor of veterinary medical education, as well as prepare for the mental, emotional and financial aspects of the profession.
