Ryan Blake Williams, Ph.D.

Associate Dean for Faculty and Associate Professor of Economic and Public Policy

About Me

Ryan Blake Williams is the Associate Dean for Faculty. He is also an economist and is Associate Professor of Economic and Public Policy. He grew up in northern California in a small town on the Pacific Ocean, nestled amongst redwood trees, dairies, and ranches. Ryan's passion for the benefit of mutually beneficial exchange between free people grew from observing constant strife between conservationists and industry, and the unintended consequences of poorly designed public policy. He earned his B.A. in Economics from Emory University, a Masters in Economics from North Carolina State University, and his Ph.D. in Economics from Texas Tech University. He has spent the last nine years as a faculty member of the Department of Agricultural & Applied Economics at Texas Tech University and the last four years holding a joint appointment with Texas A&M AgriLife Research at Lubbock. His interest in the economics of veterinary medicine began when providing consulting services to the American Veterinary Medical Association and continued through his involvement in evaluating the business case for the TTU School of Veterinary Medicine.
