About Me

Dr. Kyre Larrabee is an Assistant Professor of Practice at Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine. Raised on a working ranch in Southwest Kansas, she developed a deep-rooted passion for horses, livestock, and rural veterinary care. She earned her DVM from Oklahoma State University, where she also served as national President of the Student American Veterinary Medical Association.

After graduation, she gained hands-on experience in equine sports medicine and mixed animal practice before joining Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine. At TTU SVM, Dr. Larrabee is passionate about helping students grow confident in their clinical and professional skills. Outside of work, you’ll likely find her roping, working cattle, or exploring the outdoors with her family and friends.

Instruction

Dr. Larrabee’s instruction will focus on clinical and professional skills for both small and large animal medicine and client communication. She has particular interest in wound management, small animal surgery, small animal dermatology, equine sports medicine, and end-of-life care for our companion animals.

Service

Dr. Larrabee is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, High Plains Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Association of Equine Practitioners. She currently serves as the secretary of the High Plains Veterinary Medical Association for the Texas Panhandle and is the faculty advisor for the TTU SVM Student American Veterinary Medical Association.
